Yeng Constantino first graced Philippine TV as a student in the local franchise of Endemol's Pinoy Dream Academy where she eventually took home the plum prize of being the first-ever Grand Star Dreamer of the said reality show.
Fast-forward to a few years later, and with platinum-selling albums and a string of certified hit songs, Yeng is now a songwriter-singer-host-music video director-concert performer-producer and the list goes on, as she strive to achieve more and more titles to add to her ever-expanding resume. Recently, an article said that she is now interested in pursuing an acting career - one of the things fans of Yeng should look forward to.
This multi-talented girl has numerous awards under her belt, thanks to her songs that are definitely catchy and lyrics that truly touches the heart of those who relate to it. Her very first song, Hawak-Kamay, garnered quite a handful awards and recognitions, it was even featured as the theme song of the Judy Ann Santos-Ryan Agoncillo movie entry for the 2007 MMFF which was a blockbuster hit. Not bad for a starter, right?
Flash forward to 2011, Yeng hosts the nightly show, Music Uplate Live! with Tutti of 6cyclemind, Marvin Concio and Gee Canlas. She still is a regular performer at ASAP Rocks and has since released her third studio album called Lapit.
In case there's such a song buzzing in your minds at the mention of Lapit, that's exactly the song that's featured in that same album. Lapit has been used as an insert song on many primetime soaps of ABS-CBN. As of the moment, that very song is the theme song of Coco Martin and Maja Salvador in Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, bringing fans' hearts aflutter.
Her album, Lapit, also contains the oh-so-catchy single, Jeepney Lovestory - of which music video Yeng produced herself. It features cameos of PBB Teen Clash Big 6 Ivan Dorschner and the Ultimate Heartthrob, Piolo Pacual.
She has also ventured in directing music videos, having directed Jaime Rivera's latest music video, Letting Go, which is now one of the most-requested on MYX.
Yeng will be releasing a Live DVD album called Yeng Versions Live sometime this month, under Star Records. The album is a compilation of classic OPM hits from the 70's, 80's and the 90's. The album will feature songs by Florante, the Eraserheads, Blue Jeans, Apo, Yano and more. Musical direction by Jack Rufo.
And come the first Friday of August, Yeng will be having her second major concert at the Aliw Theater entitled, RakenRol Jamming with guests Gloc 9 and Raimund Marasigan.
